먹방 (Mukbang) Monday: Fancy Korean

When Seong's dad came to town, one thing he wanted to do was experience Korean fine dining. In Korea, sometimes people say "인증샷" (In Jeung Shot), when they take pictures of food! I felt like that was very appropriate as I meticulously documented every course!

Course 1: Flaxseed Soup

Course 2: 청포묵 (Cheongpomook = gelatinized mung bean in the shape of noodles)
&
Course 3: Crab, Broccoli, and 연근 (Yeongeun) Salad

Course 4: Raw Fish with Spicy Veggies

Course 5: 재육볶음 (JaeyookBokkeum = fried and spicy beef) Radish Wraps

Course 6: Mushroom Flaxseed Soup

Course 7: 파전 (Pajeon = green onion pancake)

Course 8: Dried and Fried Spicy Mackerel

Course 9: Banchan

Course 10: 떡갈비 (DdeokGalbi = Korean meatloaf)

Course 11: 꽃게찌개 (GgotgeJjigae = crab stew)

Course 12: 연꽃밥 (YeonggotBap = leaf-wrapped rice)

Course 13: 꽁치조림 (GgongchiJorim = braised saury)

Course 14: Soy Milk Custard with Pepper Extract

I don't think I have to say this, but I will anyway: the food was incredible! The flaxseed soup was all creamy umami, especially the one with mushrooms. That was the best green onion pancake I have ever had in my life, and wrapping the meat and sprouts in super thin radish circles was fun and yummy! I even enjoyed the fish and crabs, which are not usually my favorite. The warm, silky, and spicy custard really finished the meal with a bang! Even though we are normally pretty frugal, this was definitely a worthy splurge!
